Greg Jones and Steve Berger (Bio’s and Pictures)
Greg is a lifelong resident of Woodbury Hts., NJ; a part time resident of Kentmore Park, Kennedyville, MD, since 1999. He is married to Joyce and they have two sons, Jesse (married to Laura) & Joe-Heinz, both Eagle Scouts. So far, one grandson, Nolan Micah (age 28 mos) and one granddaughter, Heidi Mae (age 8 weeks) thanks to Jesse & Laura. He is one of the founding members of the Christian Business Men’s Connection (CBMC) of Woodbury. Greg graduated from Elizabethtown College (PA) in 1974 with a BS in Business Administration, with a concentration in Marketing.
In June of 1973, Greg joined the family insurance business in Woodbury, NJ. He obtained the prof. designation of “Accredited Advisor in Insurance” (AAI) in 1987. The 3rd generation family owner of Storrie, Budd & Jones Agency, Inc., Greg held the position of President from 1986-2004, when he negotiated a successful merger with Bollinger, Inc., then the 9th largest independently owned insurance brokerage firm in the USA. He ended his affiliation with Bollinger in 2007.
Greg has always had an interest in serving the community. He has been involved in several organizations over the years such as Woodbury JayCees, where he served as President 1980-81, the Greater Woodbury Chamber of Commerce, where he served on the Bd of Directors for 10 years, the Gloucester County YMCA, where he has served on the Board of Directors for 15 years and as President for 3 yrs. (still currently serving another 3 yr term). Greg served a term of seven (7) yrs on the Board at YMCA Camp Ockanickon in Medford Lakes, NJ.
He also is very active with the Woodbury Rotary Club, where he has served on the Board of Directors as President; his term as President ran from 6/08 thru 7/09. Greg has also served seven years of service in Scouting, where He served 3 years as Scoutmaster of BSA Troop 225 in Pine Acres (Deptford), NJ. He then continued with the troop as the Committee Chairman for two more years. He stays active in BSA fund raising activities to date.
Today, Greg continues to stay active in the insurance community as a consultant/producer, in both NJ and MD. Along with all of Greg’s accomplishments through the years, he has also obtained his NJ Real Estate license. Greg’s warm personality, his professionalism, and his ability to establish long-term relationships are enabled by his strong faith in God and his desire to provide help to others – especially in his field of expertise: insurance and risk management.
His relationship with the team at Schiff Benefits was established in 1999, thru Lee Wilderman, Ron Goldberg and Vince Boinell; where those three (3) served as the Life/Benefits Division as a contracted service for SBJ Agency. That affiliation ended with the merger to Bollinger, however, the relationship between the individuals continued and today, Greg serves as a Managing Director with Schiff Benefits Group, maintaining his responsibilities as liason to the Prop and Casualty Agent partners.
